David Kreindler
David Kreindler completed an Astronomy and Physics Specialist degree at the University of Toronto, and received his MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in 2002, and has been working since then in the Division of Youth Psychiatry at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, serving as Interim Head of the Youth Division since October 2011 and Division Head since April 2014.
Dr. Kreindler’s clinical work focuses on complex cases of mood and anxiety in youth. He also serves as the consulting psychiatrist to Sunnybrook’s “Fresh Start” Section 23 Day Treatment Program, a program offered as a partnership between Sunnybrook and the Toronto District School Board, which focuses on actively treating students who are unable to manage in a conventional school setting because of mood, anxiety, or psychotic disorders.
Research Synopsis
Dr. Kreindler's research interests include the aetiology of mood, the application of nonlinear dynamics to psychiatry, and the clinical applications of handheld computers, Including both software development and knowledge transfer. He also has an interest in information security for clinicians.
