Clinical Programs
Several of the Division sites initiated renewal projects for their clinical programs including SickKids, CAMH and SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health (formally known as Hinks-Dellcrest Centre). The George Hull Centre moved to a new site as did the CAP services at North York General. New in-patient beds have opened recently at Youthdale. Services for children and youth at Humber River Hospital have also moved recently.
An increasing pressure was felt across the system in accessing in-patient beds for adolescents and the Division initiated a plan to improve communication and cooperation to ensure that those beds are used to their full potential.
Through CAYAC there is now regular communication between sites as well as a better understanding of service needs and in-patient bed use. As a result of these and other initiatives, access to in-patient beds and out-patient services has improved considerably.
