Clinician Scholar Program
About the Clinician Scholar Program
The newly developed Clinician Scholar Program in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto (U of T) aims to support and enhance the training of residents intending to pursue academic careers in education scholarship, quality improvement, and other creative professional activities (including the social sciences and humanities). The Clinician Scholar Program will provide broad and diverse training opportunities to prepare residents for future careers in these areas.
Residents will have access to ongoing supervision, professional development seminars, and mentorship by established faculty members in their areas of interest. Applications will be accepted from PGY-2 and -3 residents by April 15 (or next business day) annually. Acceptance decisions will be released By mid-late May, with enrollment commencing on July 1. If you are unsure whether to apply to the Clinician Scholar Program or the Clinician Scientist Program, please contact Kathleen Sheehan, Director, Clinician Scholar Program (kathleen.sheehan@uhn.ca) and Stephanie Ameis, Director, Clinician Scientist Program (stephanie.ameis@camh.ca). Please note that you can only apply to one program, either the Clinician Scholar OR Clinician Scientist Program.

Quality, Innovation, and Safety
Psy-QIS is the Department’s academic home for Quality, Innovation and Safety education and scholarship.
Psy-QIS includes quarterly meetings of interested faculty and learners where emerging work in the department is reviewed and opportunities for professional development are shared. Psy-QIS also includes opportunities for collaboration and provides access to funding sources.
