Dr Brian Baker is a psychiatrist whose clinical practice is exclusively focused on the psychiatric aspects of cardiovascular disorders. This includes the treatment of anxiety and depression in patients with coronary artery disease, the psychiatric management of patients with heart failure and with the implantable defibrillator. He has been a teacher and was a researcher, lecturer at cardiac rehabilitation programmes and a spokesperson for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. His past research has included psychological factors in arrhythmias, the impact of psychosocial factors on sustained blood pressure and the management of depression in patients with coronary artery disease.
