Feng Hou received his PhD from the University of Western Ontario. He is Principal Researcher with Social Analysis and Modeling Division, Statistics Canada and adjunct professor of Sociology at the University of Victoria and the University of Western Ontario.
Research Synopsis
Feng Hou’s research interests include socioeconomic and psychological adjustment of immigrants, socioeconomic determinants of population health, subjective wellbeing, as well as statistical methods in social and health studies. His current research examines the effects of poverty, income inequality, social diversity, and community conditions on health outcomes. His recent publications have appeared in Social Science and Medicine, American Journal of Public Health, International Journal of Public Health Ethnicity and Health, Transcultural Psychiatry, Journal of Nervous and Mental Diseases, Canadian Psychology, and Journal of Happiness Studies.
