Dr. Allan completed his Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry and Master's of Science in Biology at Carleton University.  He completed his Medical Degree at the University of Toronto, 1T5.  He completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Ottawa and his geriatric psychiatry fellowship at Queens University.  He currently works at Waypoint Center for Mental Health Care where he is the most responsible physician for the geriatric psychiatry inpatient program.  He serves a variety of populations, majority over the age of 65 (also younger with early onset dementia), which includes dementia, severe and persistent mental illness, and late onset psychiatric disorders.  He also has interest and the minority stress model and his applications to marginalize populations
