Renato Ramos
Dr. Ramos graduated in medicine at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He completed the residence in psychiatry and obtained his PhD in psychopharmacology at the same university. He completed postdoc fellowships at the Department of Psychiatry University of Pittsburgh, USA and at the Department of Psychology King’s College of London. He created and coordinated the Laboratory of Psychophysiology and Virtual Reality and served as Head of the Depression and Anxiety Unity at the Institute of Psychiatry University for Sao Paulo. He was Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Sao Paulo until joining the Frederick W. Thompson Anxiety Disorders Centre, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
Research Synopsis
Dr. Ramos current clinical and research interests include: pathophysiology and therapeutics of OCD, premotor evoked potentials in psychiatric disorders, and psychophysiology of anxiety and depression.
