Research Synopsis
Dr. CAROLINA McBRIDE is a Clinical Psychologist and Research Director of the Interpersonal Psychotherapy Clinic of the Mood and Anxiety Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. She obtained her PhD in 1999 from the University of Ottawa and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. She is actively involved in research, with a particular focus on understanding interpersonal vulnerabilities to depression, as well as delineating the mechanisms that lead to positive outcomes in Interpersonal Psychotherapy. Other areas of research interest include women and depression, adult attachment and personality. She is interested in differentiating healthy dependency from unhealthy dependency in women, and understanding how dependency in women differs from dependency in men.
